Michal Baratz Koren is a visual artist working with photography, based in Jaffa, Israel. Her work brings together memory, belonging, and the search for shared human ground.
She holds a B.Des with honors from the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem, and pursued advanced photography studies at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan. She is the recipient of the Sandberg Award (2004) and the joint Israel-Italy Ministries of Foreign Affairs Scholarship for Excellence (2007).
Baratz Koren has exhibited in solo and group shows in Israel and abroad, including at Zemack Contemporary Art (Tel Aviv, Israel), 1335 Mabini (Manila, Philippines), and the New Ars Italica Gallery (Milan, Italy). Her work was recently selected by curator Erik Kessels for the "Portfolio Parade" exhibition at MIA Photo Fair Milan (2026), where she also received the Premio Gente di Fotografia.
Her work has been published in Corriere della Sera, Haaretz, and Chaeg Magazine, and is held in the collection of the Eileen S. Kaminsky Family Foundation (ESKFF).
